Indochina Peace Campaign records, 1940-1976 (bulk 1972-1975).

Records, mainly 1972-1975, of a national organization formed late in the anti-Vietnam War movement (1972) which emphasized public education and legislative lobbying. The remainder of the manuscript collection consists of publications, clippings, and a limited quantity of financial records. A complete run of Indochina Focal Point and various other national and local IPC publications have been separated to the Historical Society Library. Sound and visual material in the collection is extensive and provides better documentation of Hayden's and Fonda's activities than does the manuscript collection. Included are sound recordings of numerous speeches, interviews, and conferences and many radio documentaries produced or distributed by IPC to publicize the anti-war movement. Video tapes relate to the People's Coalition for Peace and Justice's 1971 Armistice Day demonstration and the Paris World Assembly for the Peace and Independence of the Indochinese People. Individuals recorded in the non-text portion of the collection include Martin Agronski, James Cagney, Noam Chomsky, Gabriel Kilko, Nguyen Cao Ky, Tom Snyder, George Wiley, and Howard Zinn. The processed portion of this collection is summarized above and described in the register. Additional accessions are described below and consist of posters.
